The Office of Proposal Development (OPD), a unit of Texas A&M University's Division of Research and Graduate Studies, supports Texas A&M faculty in the development and writing of research and educational proposals to federal agencies and foundations. OPD helps meet the long-term institutional research and educational priorities of the university, e.g., promoting new and junior faculty research, undergraduate research, and promoting diversity objectives related to students and faculty.
The office supports:
- center-level initiatives
- new and junior faculty
- multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research teams
- research affinity groups
- diversity in the research enterprise
- long-term proposal planning
OPD helps develop research partnerships across A&M colleges, departments, centers, and interdisciplinary groups, as well as throughout the Texas A&M University System, including the Health Science Center and its four components.
OPD also offers a comprehensive suite of training programs and information resources to help new faculty, faculty expanding into new program areas, and graduate students acquire the skills and knowledge they need to write more competitive proposals.
