Internal Texas A&M Grant: Fall 2009 International Research Travel Assistance Grant and International Curriculum Development Grant Programs

The Office of the Vice President for Research and the International Programs Office have joined efforts to encourage international research by the faculty of Texas A&M University. A total of $20,000of non-state funds will be provided this fall for the International Research Travel Assistance Grant program.

    The Office of the Vice President for Research and the International Programs Office have joined efforts to encourage international research by the faculty of Texas A&M University.  A total of $20,000of non-state funds will be provided this fall for the International Research Travel Assistance Grant program.
    The IRTAG funds international travel to carry out scholarly research.  Projects involving collaborative efforts with researchers in foreign institutions and those that expand the Universitys reputation and linkages abroad are favored.  Proposals to travel anywhere outside the United States will be accepted.
    In addition, the International Programs Office will continue supporting the International Curriculum Development Grant, which provides funding to faculty for the purpose of creating new courses or redesigning existing ones to embrace an international perspective.  A total of $2,500 is available this semester for curriculum grants, which typically average about $800 each.  The ICDG may be used for any professional expense related to curriculum development effort, including, but not limited to, travel costs, expenses related to acquiring curriculum materials, or equipment and software costs. 
Both grants are open to all Texas A&M University tenured and tenure-track faculty as well as distinguished and senior lecturers with a 50 percent or greater appointment in College Station or Galveston.  Funding for both grants will be available by Dec. 1.
