One-on-One Support Provided by OPD

Faculty with questions about research funding or who are seeking assistance with a proposal are encouraged to make an appointment to meet personally with an OPD member. New faculty may either meet with Lucy Deckard, who coordinates the office's New Faculty Initiative, or they may prefer to meet with the OPD representative who specializes in their particular field of research.  See People for a list of OPD personnel, their areas of specialization and their contact information.

Please feel free to contact us if:

• You would like help identifying funding opportunities that fit your research agenda or need (such as funding instrumentation, travel to a library or collection, or development of a new curriculum)
• You are interested in a funding opportunity but would like more information about what the agency is looking for
• You would like some help with a particular component of the proposal; for example, an education, outreach or broader impacts component
• You are considering applying to a funding agency with which you're not familiar and would like more information about how that agency funds research and evaluates proposals
• You are ready to write a proposal and would like advice on how to structure your proposal
• You have a draft of a proposal and would like someone to read it and give you feedback 
• You plan to apply for a large multi-investigator grant and would like help coordinating the proposal effort, integrating the text from the various collaborators, and developing components often required in Center-level proposals such as education, outreach, diversity and dissemination components.
• You would like to request a workshop or seminar on some aspect of research or fellowship funding for students or faculty in your department or group
