Workshop for Students and their Advisors on Ford Foundation Diversity Predoctoral and Dissertation Fellowships

Tuesday, September 22
1:30-3:00 pm
Room 110/111 Koldus Bldg.

Ford Foundation Diversity Fellowships: http://sites.nationalacademies.org/pga/fordfellowships/

This workshop presents competitive strategies for graduate students and their advisors who are seeking funding from the Ford Foundation Diversity Fellowship program. This fellowship program is designed to increase faculty diversity at the nation's colleges and universities. Fellowship grants are made at the predoctoral, dissertation and postdoctoral levels to students who demonstrate excellence, a commitment to diversity and a desire to become a professor. Eligible students include U.S. citizens or nationals. Since a competitive Ford Fellowship application requires a joint collaborative effort between the student and his/her advisor, faculty graduate advisors are encouraged to attend along with their students. A panel discussion following the presentation will allow participants to ask questions of previous Ford fellowship winners.
