Tuesday, February 19th, 2008; 1:30 - 3:30 pm, Rudder 601
Our faculty panel members have been successfully funded by NIH, have served as reviewers for the agency, or both. They will offer insights based on their experience, share their perspectives and strategies for finding and winning funding from NIH, and will address audience questions on topics such as:
- What are reviewers looking for?
- What are some common mistakes to avoid in proposal preparation?
- If my proposal is triaged, is it worth resubmitting?
- Is it of any benefit to speak with the Program Officer or the Scientific Review Officer?
- What types of research are of interest to NIH?
- Must I respond to one of the defined research areas announced by NIH
- What is this translational research that I keep hearing about?
- How can a new researcher compete successfully for NIH funding?
